Kalavapalli River You’ve probably never heard of it. That’s because of the last 20 years, it technically didn’t exist. The river used to flow through Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh but the area was hit by a severe drought that lasted for over 2 decades.
Until now, that is. In an amazing scene, water started to finally into the once barren river. This video captures the excitement of the locals as they celebrate while the water flows.
The district reportedly has only 34 rainy days a year.
The footage was captured from a bridge above the water in the Anantapuram district in southern India.
Cheers: The whoop and beep horns as they see the water flowing for the first time in 20 years
