Ludhiana, Punjab: Aam Aadmi Party MP Bhagwant Mann caused quite a scene when he climbed onto an oil tanker during a protest in Ludhiana.
Hundreds of jewelers from Ludhiana and Jalandhar had been protesting against the Govt decision of putting excise duty on jewellery sales.
The protesters were being supported by local Congress workers. Aam Aadmi Party workers also reached the location to raise slogans against the Govt. To gain the attention of the crowd, Bhagwant Mann climbed onto the oil tanker to address the protestors.
He was later removed by the police, and then said that the crowd should not fight with the police personnel present, and that Modi had himself protested against the tax on jewellery as CM of Gujarat and has now implemented the very same tax.
Bhagwant Mann was held by the Police for some time and then later released.
