A Virgin Atlantic plane carrying 400 passengers makes an emergency landing after landing gear failure.
Eyewitnesses first reported the plane circling off the south coast of England for about two hours. After taking off a photograph was taken which showed the landing gear failed immediately after take off reported by the Airport personnel. The flight Virgin Atlantic VS042 has landed safely at Gatwick airport. The pilots also reported the failure and preparations were being made on ground for a possible emergency.
The pilots called for a “non-standard landing procedure” at Gatwick airport. The plane headed to Las Vegas, US but after detection of the problem circled around the South Coast and dumped fuel to minimize rick of a possible fire after the landing.
