A radioactive leak has been detected at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Friday after a package containing nuclear medicine was damaged, reports suggested.

The incident reportedly took place at the Turkish airlines’ cargo area

The radiation has been controlled and contained. The Gamma radiation was leaked out at the Delhi Airport and authorities say the radiation levels were very low to cause any harm to humans.

Cargo employees started to get watery eyes which prompted them to open up the package to determine the cause. Authorities arrived on the scene immediately to contain the radioactive material.

The material was brought from Turkey and people surrounding the package weren’t aware of the harmful material.
