BBC aired an hour long episode on Punjab revolving around food. The episode was very widely watched showing a British cook named Tony Singh touring Punjab and tasting traditional cooked meals.
The episode revealed immense knowledge about the Sikh faith. In the start, Sri Harmandir Sahib is shown and concept of langar is highlighted brilliantly. Later, the Nihangs and their style of living is shown quite extensively.
The entire episode was very engaging and full of information about Punjabis. The heartwarming story of the cook’s uncle of surviving the partition and making his way into India put the final touches of one of the best episodes on Punjab.
