The Midlands Langar Seva Society is one of 4 major Sikh organizations feeding the homeless throughout the UK. They have embarked on feeding homeless people in all major cities of the UK now covering over 15 cities!

The selfless service is provided without taking any monetary donations but strictly donation of food.

Who are they?

They are hardworking Sikhs living in the UK who take time off their daily lives to spread the message of the first Sikh Guru. They have embarked on taking the concept of langar outside the 4 walls of the Gurdwara and onto the street for those who need it the most.

The MLSS started off by providing food to 15 people and now they are providing food to over 3,000 in the UK feeding 7 days a week in the major cities and towns.

What’s Next?

Now, after the success in the UK, The MLSS has put together a team for New Delhi. While speaking to the founder of the MLSS, he stated, “The first feed is next week, and it will be once a week to begin with.”

The MLSS New Delhi did Ardas at Sri Harimandir Sahib Ji for the success of the New Delhi homeless feeding campaign.

To the MLSS volunteers (Sevadaars) it doesn’t matter whether it’s snowing, raining, windy, or any natural weather system, they say nothing will stop them because, “we feed the people like our family, they are our priority.”

MLSS has also started projects in Maharashtra, India. Details to come

The towns covered by MLSS are Walsall, West bromwich, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Coventry,
Leicester, Northampton, Ilford, Fulham(london), Huddersfield, Stoke, Cardiff, Manchester, Newcastle, and other towns and cities.

The first Gurdwara Sahib which started off the seva by providing facilities was the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara Caldmore.

The immense selfless service hasn’t went unnoticed as major news media around the UK such as the BBC have aired reports on the service Sikhs are doing for the homeless.
