A Sikh bibi sits in hazoori of Guru Granth Sahib Ji doing paath, while another buzurg sikh bibi does Chaur Sahib sewa inside Sanctum Sanctorum of Sri Nankana Sahib, Parkash asthaan of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj on the day of Parkash.
Mankind is only now waking up to this fundamental truth of what Guru Nanak Dev Ji preached to the world 500 years ago. The Gurus actively encouraged the participation of women as equals in worship, in society, and on the battlefield.
They encouraged freedom of speech and women were allowed to participate in any and all religious activities including reading of the Guru Granth Sahib.
From woman, man is born;
within woman, man is conceived;
to woman he is engaged and married.
Woman becomes his friend;
through woman, the future generations come.
When his woman dies, he seeks another woman;
to woman he is bound.
So why call her bad?
From her, kings are born.
From woman, woman is born; without woman, there would be no one at all.
