Tamil Nadu’s capital Chennai has been crippled by what authorities are describing as the worst rain in a century. The rains have left the city submerged and airport flooded. Train and bus services have also been brought to a halt by the incessant rains. Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has reviewed the situation and deputed ministers to inspect the affected regions.

Chennai rains seem to be never ending. The city has received torrential rainfall on the first day of December itself. As per the data available with Skymet, Chennai has recorded 374 mm of rainfall in a span of 24 hours. Meanwhile, all flights have been cancelled in Chennai as runway remains waterlogged. Heavy rains have also resulted in the cancellation of 19 trains.
