Thief Steals Purse of Women inside Gurdwara with Badal, Makkar, Jathedar

A snatching incident happened with a woman on Sunday noon in front of Model Town Extension gurdwara when Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal was present inside the gurdwara to attend the death anniversary of SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar’s son.
Due to the CM’s presence in the area, heavy police security was deployed but the snatchers fled away.
Two miscreants looted a bag from the driver of Harjit Kaur, principal of Bhai Nand Lal Public School, Anandpur Sahib, in front of Model Town Extension gurdwara. The principal also came to attend the ceremony at the gurdwara. When the snatching occurred, the CM was about to leave the shrine and the security was alert.
The school principal reportedly asked her driver Kamaljit Singh to take care of the bag and went to the gurdwara. Meanwhile, two miscreants with covered faces appeared and thrashed the driver, looted the bag and fled.
The bag contained Rs 29,000 in cash, ATM cards, mobile phone and other documents. Kamaljit told the police that he had opened the boot space of the car when the accused stopped and started enquiring about some address. When expressed ignorance about the address, the accused thrashed him and fled after taking the bag. The Model Town police registered a case against unidentified accused.
