A recent video of a Sikh boy being called “terrorist” has started a national conversation in many countries on the issue of racist based attacks. The video received several million views on Youtube and almost all major news media around the world reported on the incident.
However, the Gwinnet County school administration refused to label the attack as “bullying” but instead called it “name calling.”
The Sikh Press Association have said: “We are fed up of being associated with terrorism. Sikhs are known for charity, loyalty and bravery. The media are responsible for the bullying this child is facing” – Jagraj Singh, Sikh educator.
