The Bedford Hospitals Charity has issued an appeal to raise £750,000 and recently received a big boost with with Sikhs donating £8,000.
The Guru Gobind Singh Gurdwara community has been continuously raising to support the Challenge Cancer appeal.
The Gurdwara head Gurbam Singh gave the check to the chairman of the vice chairman of the charity Gordon Beeden at the Gurdwara Sahib in
Bedford Road, Kempston.
The charity has been raising money to provide cancer treatment facilities and new equipment to treat patients at the hospital.
Mr Beeden said: “On behalf of the Bedford Hospitals Charity and the people of Bedford, I would like to thank all members of the Guru Gobind Singh Gurdwara community for their tremendous support.”
Local Sikh grocery store owner Gurcharan Singh also gave a donation of £1,000.
