Sikh prisoner Bhai Waryam Singh (70) will finally be released from Rai Bareilly Jail (UP) as per orders of the Union Home Ministry.
His release order has been reached the jail and is likely to be release in an hour or so.
The Punjab Chief Minister PS Badal has also written to UP and Union governments for the release of Waryam Singh and other Sikh prisoners.
Bhai Waryam Singh is one among other prisoners whom Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa, sitting on hunger strike from almost a year, demand to be released.
The Union home ministry has ordered to release former Sikh militant Waryam Singh from Bareilly jail of UP back in October this year. He has been behind the bars since 1990 under The TADA. He was charged under Section 302 of the IPC and convicted with life imprisonment.
Waryam Singh belongs to Pilibhit District of UP. His nephew Major Singh was also lodged in Nabha jail but was released in 2012
