Sikh Network UK Celebrates a Successful 1 Year Anniversary

31 January 2016

Today we mark 1 year of the Sikh Network. The focus was to create and launch the first ever Sikh Manifesto, which was launched on this day in 2015 at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall, with two further launch events in Birmingham and UK Parliament.

We produced and distributed over 20k copies of the Sikh Manifesto with 3 accompanying professional promotional videos. A nationwide campaign was supported by many Gurdwara’s and sewadaars and Sangat all in preparation for the General Election 2015.

Over the past 12 months The Sikh Network team have organised a Political Hustings at Wolverhampton university, followed up with events at PwC – Sikhs in Politics, June84 Rally, Women & Politics, ‪#‎sikhlivesmatter‬ campaign, Modi protests, Human Rights & Faith conference, Guru Nanak Gurpurb in Parliament, Art Exhibition for Bapu Surat Singh, and Faith & Politics Akal Takht event next week, and many more planned…

We have progressed on the Sikh Manifesto priorities and published 3 Quarterly newsletters. We have over 2,100 people networked, acquired over 3,250 facebook & 1,950 twitter followers.
