Sikh MP Tanmanjeet Singh spoke out on the hate crime which took place outside of his office near the UK Parliament. Last week, a man ripped the turban of a guest of Tanmanjeet Singh waiting outside of his office. The victim Ravneet Singh had his turban shaken and hit behind his head. The suspect fled the scene before yellow “Muslim go home.”

“This afternoon I raised a Point of Order regarding the recent #HateCrime attack on one of my guests whilst he queued outside @UKParliament. The perpetrator tried to pull off the #turban of the #Sikh visitor and shouted ‘#Muslim go back home’.” Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi

Speaker says empathises with the honourable gentleman “and I think all decent people across the House on this subject” will do as well.

Speaker: It was a truly appalling incident. I feel a great sense of shame that in our country such an act could’ve been perpetrated.
