A Facebook post received tremendous amount of engagement after breaking the news of a Sikh heritage restoration gone terribly wrong.

The attached pictures show the current quality of restoration on frescos in Sikh shrines. Where we previously highlighted Baba Atal, here you can see the how the only surviving frescos above Bauli Sahib, Goindwal Sahib have been changed in the name of restoration. Only recently was this project undertaken. The result is a very poor repainting of the original, many original details lost and many factors changed. Infact, this cannot be called ‘restoration’ under any means, which is supposed to bring frescos back to their original glory. Here we see the opposite effect.
