Several Sikh fans of Denver Broncos drove seven hours to see them play against the San Diego Chargers in San Diego, but security officials harassed them over their turbans.
Varinder Malhi, one of the Sikhs who was harassed was told he had to take off his turban at Qualcomm Stadium by the security personnel.
Varinder told local media, that three of his friends had turbans on and were told to take them off. However, the Sikhs were allowed to enter to watch the football game but told they wouldn’t be allowed again if they wore turbans.
Troubles didn’t end there, a suspicious fan called the police saying he saw 3 turbaned man “fiddling” with items in their car’s trunk in the parking lot.
A bomb sniffing dog was brought to the sight to inspect the items of Malhi’s vehicle. Malhi stated that he’d gone to the car to put back a bag that wasn’t allowed in the stadium.
