The Sikh Channel dismissed a presenter named Harvey Khaira for comments which outraged Sikhs worldwide.
The comments made by the host were unacceptable by a TV host who called members of his own community the “Khaliban” implying the word taliban.
He referred to peaceful protesting Sikhs in the UK against film ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ as “extremists” and terming them “khaliban.” The comments sparked outrage and upset sentiments of the Sikhs.

Sikh Channel issued the following statement:
“Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa
Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
The comments by Harvey Khaira are utterly despicable and not supported or endorsed by Sikh Channel in any shape or form.
Harvey Khaira was the voluntary presenter of the Alcohol & Beyond show which aimed to deal with the largescale problem of alcohol addiction.
As a result of his comments and further complaints about his behaviour, he will not be appearing on Sikh Channel.
The vile term used is absolutely abhorrent and not something that can or will be tolerated by Sikh Channel.”
We thank the Sikh Channel for quick action against the host and maintaining it’s high standards.
