A Sikh boy named Ravneet Singh drowned at Duranbah beach. The friends stated that while the boys were swimming together water came from the back and swept them in. The boys managed to come back onto the beach but Ravneet had swallowed a lot of water. The boys weren’t familiar with the CPR techniques and were able to remove the water out.
Emergency crews came to the scene and took the boy to the hospital but it was too late as he had become a victim of drowning. The friends of Ravneet were in shock as they couldn’t believe they had lost him and how life would be without him.
There have been several other cases where Sikh boys have drowned. The problem largely lies of the boys swimming without life jackets and proper medical equipment.
