In a shocking incident, a mosque was set on fire in the swedish town of Eskilstuna where five people were injured.
An estimated 15-20 people were inside attending midday prayers iin the ground floor of a an apartment building, when the arsons set the building on fire on Christmas day. The five injured were taken to the hospital for treating injuries from smoke inhalation to lacerations.
People immediately are calling the incident an arson attack but as of yet no arrests have been made.
The firefighters were able to put the blaze, and the incident occurred during days of fierce debate of immigration policies in Sweden.
The political party on the right spectrum wants to cut the number of asylum seekers by 90% while those on the left want to preserve the country’s liberal policy.
Recently the populist party held strong anti-immigration demonstrations and ended up bringing down the minority government coalition which was in power for about 2 and half months.
