SGPC Head Makkar’s Son Dies at PGI Chandigarh


CHANDIGARH: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Chief Avtar Singh Makkar today was grieved as his youngest son Tejinderpal Singh Soni, 37, died while undergoing treatment at PGI Chandigarh. He had developed a liver infection and had been undergoing treatment when he breathed his last. Makkar was on his side when his youngest son died.

The SGPC headquarters was seen in grief and they got together to hold prayers when the news regarding the sudden death of Makkar’s son reached here. SGPC secretary Dalmegh Singh confirming the death stated that Soni also known as Tejinderpal Singh Makkar had his health deteriorating and was rushed to the PGI where a team of doctors undertook the treatment but unfortunately he could not be saved.

Soni left behind, apart from father and mother and two brothers, his wife and a son and a daughter . The condolences were pouring in as soon as the news regarding the sudden death of his young son reached. Makkar family belongs to Ludhiana and had been an active in the religious affairs in Ludhiana and outside.
