Satnam Singh has made history. The 7 foot 2 inch basketball player from Punjab, India was the first ever Indian born player to be drafted into the NBA. The 19 year old was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks as the 52nd overall pick in the draft.


The owner Mark Cuban said over a billion Dallas Mavericks’ fans are happy to have him.

Satnam choe to enter the draft early and was one of the 91 players to be nominated in the early entry candidates for the 2015 NBA draft. The nominated group included 48 players from colleges and post-graduate institutions and 43 international players.


Satnam Singh trained in Florida after being sponsored by the IMG Reliance Academy.

In the year 2011, at the age of 16, Satnam became the youngest player to represent India at the 26th Asian Basketball Championship at Wuhan in China.


Since their inaugural 1980–81 season, The Dallas Mavericks have won three division titles (1987, 2007, 2010), two conference championships (2006, 2011), and one NBA Championship (2011)
