Russian airline carrying over 224 passengers that was earlier reported missing has crashed in Sinai Peninsula, Egyptian prime minister has confirmed.
A “Russian civilian plane… crashed in the central Sinai,” a statement from the office of Prime Minister Sharif Ismail said.
A Russian Passenger Plane A -321 Carrying 224 People , Including 17 Children and 7 crew members traveling from Sharm el-Sheikh to St Petersburg had crashed in Egypt’s restive Sinai Peninsula. Most of the passengers are Russian tourists.
However, in a conflicting report, the Egyptian Air Accident Chief said the Russian plane had safely left Egyptian Airspace and made contact with Turkish Air Traffic Control, RT news reported.
