(DSU News Bureau) Retired Punjab University Professor Gurbaksh Singh committed suicide by jumping in front of a train.

The professor lived in a housing complex in Mani Majra Chandigarh where he lift behind a suicide note stating “I am ending my life. There is nobody to be blamed for this.”


The professor left his house around 8am for a walk but never returned until 11am and that’s when the family contacted the police.

They were informed by the police that a body was found near the railway tracks where he was identified.

The people close to him said he was suffering from acute pain in his back and neck which had been very stressed.

The family members stated he was stressed due to the extreme pain but never expected that he would take his life over it.

The professor worked in the Physical Education Department and was 80 years of age when he took his life.
