British media RT did a segment on how the Sikh community is helping to feed homeless of the United Kingdom. The remarkable act of service to the community has been recognized by a wide range of media.

The Midland Langar Seva Society was started by two Singhs who’ve now enlisted several volunteers to feed the homeless in different parts of the UK.

The organization has grown tremendously by reaching out to Delhi and Mumbai and assisting in humanitarian efforts in Nepal. The group puts the Sikh principles of community service into practice by helping the needy.

Sikh volunteers say rising food costs, static incomes, changes to benefits and underemployment are the reasons for people’s growing need for food banks.
