An Alberta man is facing charges after a flight attendant was assaulted early Wednesday, forcing an Air Canada flight bound for New Delhi to return back to Toronto.
Jaskaran Sidhu of Alberta was arrested Wednesday when he caused an Air Canada flight bound for New Delhi to return to Pearson International Airport when he assaulted a flight attendant.
Peel Regional Police said that on December 30 at about 12:42 a.m., a flight that had departed for New Delhi had to be diverted back to Pearson International Airport due to a passenger’s assaultive and belligerent behaviour towards a flight attendant. The plane landed without incident and a male on board was arrested and charged in relation to the occurrence. The victim sustained injuries that required medical attention.
Sidhu was arrested and charged with two counts of mischief, assault causing bodily harm, and endangering safety of aircraft.
