In Village Hassanpur of Bapu Surat Singh Ji Khalsa, police ripped posters, took off banners, and tents at a program in the village in support of releasing Sikh political prisoners.
The Sangat and village council sat and decided that if the police officers apologize than the sangat will accept it and lay to rest the matter.
Immediately after the act by the police, a Singh took it on him to protest by staying atop a water tank and refusing to come down.
The police officer stated, “We apologize on behave of the officers who committed the act and we all belong to Sikh Quam and should do better for the nation.”
The apology was accepted by the sangat as they were promised such an act wouldn’t occur again.
