Amitabh Bachan along with Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will be in London on March 14, 2015 to unveil Mahatma Gandhi’s statue at London’s Parliament Square.

Reportedly, there will be protesters at the event who will protest against Amitabh Bachchan for his role in the 1984 Sikh genocide. It remains to be seen how many people show up to protest. When Amitabh Bachchan carried the Olympic Torch in the London Summer Olympics, a handful of Sikhs came out to protest against him.

Many well known names will be in attendance to see the statue of Gandhi which was largely funded by rich corporate Indian sponsors.

The British Department for Culture, Media and Sport has announced that the permanent memorial’s unveiling ceremony will see India’s Finance Minister Arun Jaitley as well as Gandhi’s grandson, Shri GopalKrishna Gandhi who is also the Governor of West Bengal.

The open event will feature live music and doors open for the public at 9:15am.
