Police Enjoys Langar While Wanting to Arrest Jathedar Amrik Singh

Police arrived to arrest Jathedar of Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala early morning at the Damdami Taksal Ajnala headquarters. However, the police was offered to have langar prepared by the Singhs. The tense situation became a bit less tense after the tremendous generosity shown the Singhs.

Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) leader Simranjit Singh Mann has reportedly been arrested by the Punjab Police following the Sarbat Khalsa which took place yesterday.

According to reports Simranjit Singh Mann was arrested from Amritsar by the Police over “objectionable” resolutions passed at the Sarbat Khalsa gathering. The police are also reported to be looking for Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala who was appointed as Jathedar of Sri Kesgarh Sahib at the Sarbat Khalsa yesterday.

Simranjit Singh Mann is reported to have been unwell and had not spoken at yesterday’s Sarbat Khalsa, but some sources have stated he was not allowed to speak and others stated that he was unhappy with the decisions made.

Reports have also come of Bhai Mohkam Singh being arrested from his home at 4am, Gurdeep Singh Bhathinda arrested from his home, and journalist Surinder Singh was also arrested.

Also, police raids were done to arrest newly appointed Jathedars Baljit Singh Daduwal, Amrik Singh Ajnala, and Dhian Singh Mand. The son of Simranjit Singh Mann Imaan Singh Mann told a local news media that his father was arrested early morning.

The homes of several SAD Amritsar and United Akali Dal members were raided but no official report of arrests.
