As Sikh organisations prepare for the Sarbat Khalsa to be held on November 10, the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has decided to foil it by reaching out to the masses asking them not to attend the activity having and claims it “hidden malicious agenda”.

Following directions from the party high command conveyed to the district leadership on Friday evening, meetings were held in all districts of Doaba on Saturday where resolutions were passed against the call for Sarbat Khalsa.

Badal Dal started propaganda that only Sri Akal Takht Sahib` jathedar ( Its notable that Jathedar`s services are dismissed by Panj Pyare) can call the Sarbat Khalsa, and the gathering by anti-Panthic associations aimed at getting political mileage cannot be called Sarbat Khalsa. “It’s an attempt by anti-Sikh forces to divide the community. It’s a planned strategy to spoil the peaceful atmosphere and communal harmony of Punjab,” the resolution reads.
