A 29-year-old youth was shot at on his chest close to one side shoulder close to the North Park lodging in Panchkula before the end of last night after he attempted to protect a young lady who was being whipped by her male friend.
The young, Fateh Singh, an occupant of Patiala, was raced to the Civil Hospital, Sector 6, from where specialists alluded him to the PGI, where his condition is expressed to critical.
Jagwinder Singh, an occupant of Majri Chowk, Panchkula, in his grievance to the police, said he and his companions Fateh, Sandy of Mani Majra, Sukh, an resident of Amritsar, and Deep were standing alongside their vehicles — an Alto vehicle and a Scorpio jeep — out and about before the North Park lodging around midnight.
Two young ladies and a man were in the stopping region of the inn. The man was whipping one of the young ladies. Fateh, who was watching this, hurried to the zone and asked the kid for what reason he was beating the young lady. The boy began quarreling with Fateh.
The young lady, who was being beaten, said there was no issue among her and the kid. A PCR van likewise arrived and the police interceded to end the fight between the boy and Fateh.
Meanwhile, the boy shouted to his dad after which a man left the place and held Fateh by the neck. Jagwinder said he, alongside Deep and Sandy, hurried to the rescue of Fateh and they all returned to the main area of the conflict. The boy, with whom Fateh had a fight, alongside three young men and a man, began ambushing them and one of the young men shot at Fateh on the chest. The boy again shot at Fateh, however as the injured individual tumbled down, the bullet crossed him, missing his head.
He said subsequent to hearing the shots, individuals, who were going to a gathering at the place, accumulated at the spot and one of the young men got away from the spot in a Skoda Laura vehicle (CH 01AA 9836). The other young men got away in two different vehicles. The PCR van took critical Fateh to the Civil Hospital, Sector 6, from where specialists alluded him to the PGI.
The Chandimandir police have enlisted a body of evidence against unidentified people under Sections 307, 323 and 34 of the IPC and Section 25 of the Arms Act.

Suspect from Zirakpur, captured
The police have captured the suspect, Anup Jindal, an inhabitant of Zirakpur, for terminating and harming Fateh Singh. They have held onto his authorized gun. He will be delivered under the watchful eye of a court on Tuesday.
