A large majority of Panthic organisations and famous Sikh personalities from across the world have openly condemned the decision read out by the Akal Takht Jathedar to pardon Gurmeet Ram Raheem, chief of the Sirsa Dera, who has been in controversy since 2007 for attempting to personify Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji.

Parcharaks and the Panthic organisations of Punjab have taken an unconditional hard stand against this decision that created shockwaves within the Sikh nation, and this event has now become a talking point not only in worldwide Sikh circles, but in the villages of Punjab too.

Panthic Parcharak Baba Ranjit Singh Khalsa Dhadrianwale took a direct firm stand against the decision that Sikhs believe was more or less enforced upon the nation by the five Singh Sahibaan sitting at the Akal Takht. The Parcharak boldly voiced his opinions to the world whilst on a Sikhi Parchar visit in the United States of America, and a video recording of the statement during the Samagam was widely shared across social media. The majority of Sikhs living in the USA at this point in time are totally against the ruling state Government, as per media reports.

One Punjabi newspaper has reported on 30 September 2015 (article attached) that according to some opinions, there are high chances that the likes of Baba Ranjit Singh Khalsa will face dire consequences and obstacles from the state for his direct stand against the pardon whilst on foreign soil, in the same way as other Parcharaks of the past.

It must be noted that Baba Ranjit Singh Khalsa has been one of the few personalities in modern times to fearlessly do Parchar of the truth whilst roaming the villages of Punjab, and has played a leading role over the last few years to openly speak against ‘Deravaad’ and the fake self-proclaimed God-men who have been slowly poisoning the moral fibre of the community over the last two decades or so. However, the stance taken by Baba Ranjit Singh Khalsa whilst in the USA has been the strongest till date.

The newspaper reports the opinion that if such a move was initiated against the Parcharak, then the situation in Punjab would become unstable with supporting groups and the hundreds of thousands of Sikhs rising against the state Government in unrest. Due to the Punjab state elections fast approaching in February 2017, the ruling Government may indeed refrain from such actions because of this reason alone. Although agencies have not leaked any such information, it is some peoples opinion there could be some sort of occurrence upon the Parcharaks return to Punjab.
