Panj Piyare have remained steadfast at their decision for the ousting of 3 Takht Jathedars for attending the Sauda Sadh pardon meeting.

Top SGPC officials are bracing themselves to tackle the situation after an ultimatum served by the Panj Pyaras in the form of gurmata to oust jathedars of three Takhts (who were removed by Sarbat Khalsa on 1oth November) , being controlled by the committee.

SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar is all set to hold a meeting of committee officials tomorrow. He, however, refused to divulge any details.

The Panj Pyaras, meanwhile, today held a meeting. One of them, Bhai Satnam Singh Khanda reiterated that in case the SGPC failed to expel the jathedars by January 1, they would take a concrete decision on January 2.

Makkar said Akal Takht had three sets of Panj Pyaras to perform duties such as amrit sanchar (baptism), leading nagar kirtans and other religious programmes.
