Suspension of Panj pyaras cancelled by SGPC

SGPC Chief Jathedar Avtar Singh have reinstated the Panj Piyare. Disclosing this here today a spokesman of SGPC said that the president has taken this decision according to the will of the executive committee of SGPC which had authorised him to solve the issue.

Its notable that SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar gave the ordered to suspend Panj Pyaras, a few hours after they took the decision to summon Jathedars. The SGPC took a serious note of the development and ordered the suspension of them apart from two other key Secretaries and four employees of the SGPC who were part of the whole episode.

That day, Makkar said the decision of the Panj Pyaras was against the Sikh traditions it was an attempt to divide the community that could not be allowed. He said that the headquarters of three suspended Panj Pyaras would be UP Sikh Mission, Hapur and the rest of the two would be Sikh Mission, Kurukshetra in Haryana.

Panj Payaras issued summons to Jathedars of the five Takhts at the Akal Takht on October 23. They said that the move is aimed to seek clarification from Jathedars on first pardoning and then taking back the decision ‘Hukamnama’ against Ram Rahim .
