2 year old girl loses life after her family’s car crashes with Mercedes sedan of Hema Malini
The accident occurred when Hema’s Mercedes car, coming from the Agra-Jaipur National Highway-11, speeding over the speed limit collided head-on with an Alto car carrying five members of a family of nearby Lalsot town.
Driver of the Mercedes Benz was arrested by police for speeding and crossing over the divider.
First post reported:
One eyewitness who said he took Hema Malini to Jaipur in his car said she told him to drive fast as she was under great pain.
Dr Shiv Sharma, physiotherapist in a private hospital, brought Hema and three others to Jaipur in his vehicle from the accident site.
SP Dausa, Anshuman Bhomia said,”Five people were injured and out of them Sonam died. Sonam’s mother and brother have been referred to SMS hospital.”
Two of the car’s other occupants, Seema and Sanu, were referred to the Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh Hospital in critical condition.
Police reached the spot only after the injured were taken to various hospitals.
The car took a right turn towards Lalsot bypass when it hit the MP’s car coming on the highway.
Hema’s driver tried hard to avoid the other car, but couldn’t do so, according to eyewitnesses.
Two-and-a-half-year-old Sonam was declared dead when brought to the Dausa Government Hospital.
Hema’s driver, who was driving her Mercedes with Haryana’s registration umber, also sustained minor injuries, sources said.
A two-and-a-half year-old child, one of the occupants of the other car, died in the accident.
The impact killed the girl, who was believed to be four years old, in the other car and injured three co-passengers and the driver, who were also taken to hospital, the Press Trust of India cited a local administrator as saying.
The two-year-old who was killed was travelling with four relatives including her parents and another young child who have been hospitalised.
According to NDTV
“I am being told the Mercedes was speeding. It drove over the divider,” said senior police officer Rajinder Tyagi to NDTV from Dausa, where the accident took place, about 60 km from the state capital of Jaipur.
However, he said the driver of the Alto may not have been paying attention while entering the section of the highway where the collision took place.
“The accident occurred on national highway 11 near Dausa Midway at around 9 pm when the car in which Hema Malini was travelling collided with another car. One 2 year old old was killed who was in the other car. Four others who were injured in the accident have been admitted in Dausa hospital,” a police official told IANS on phone.
