Seven pedestrians were knocked down by a Delhi city bus which spiraled out of control in the Old Delhi area on Friday, due to the driver suffering a cardiac arrest. According to the Police: Two of the pedestrians died, as did the driver.

The incident is believed to have occurred at approximately 2.15pm near the Kotwali police station, near Chandni Chowk in Delhi.

The bus driver identified as Wajid Ali, aged 40, belonged to the east side of Delhi, he was rushed to Sushruta Trauma Centre but was declared dead due to the cardiac arrest he suffered.

The Police said the bus was empty and the driver was taking a U-turn when he suffered the cardiac arrest and lost control over the steering wheel. Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai has ordered probe into the incident.
