Man Yells “F You Terrorist” While Darsh Preet Singh Was Giving an Interview to NBC

Darsh Preet Singh became a victim of a viral hateful meme this past week, but his response has been remarkable. He was interviewed on various media channels on hate crimes against Sikhs due to mistaken identity. He’s responded gracefully by stating that hate comes from fear and that hate can only be defeated by love.

While giving an interview to NBC, a motorist yelled “F You Terrorist” while driving by.

Darsh’s brother took to Facebook and reported the incident:

My brother Darsh Preet Singh was being interviewed about the racism he experienced when someone drove by and yelled hate speech — “F*** you, terrorist!” When the reporter asked him about it, he simply explained that “It happens all the time.

Instead of responding with anger or fear, Darsh repeated his message, which draws from the core of the Sikh tradition: “It’s extremely important to understand that love and compassion are the most powerful forces in the world, and if we can embody those, we can move past some of the challenges that are dividing us.”
