Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar on Thursday called on Baba Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale, who is locked in a tussle with Damdami Taksal chief Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma.Makkar’s meeting comes two days after chief minister Parkash Singh Badal rejected the demand for CBI probe into the May 17 attack on Dhadrianwale near Ludhiana.
The SGPC chief, who refused to share the details after meeting Dhadrianwale at Gurdwara Parmeshwar Dwar , however, said Dhumma was ready to bury the hatchet.
On who is behind the attack, Makkar said: “Partakh nu parman di ki lorh.” He said it was obvious that who was behind the attack, but it’s the duty of the SGPC president to see the larger interest of the community. “I’m here to find an amicable solution to the problem”, he added.
Makkar had met Dhumma on May 31 and asked him not to issue any adverse comments against Baba Dhadrianwale.
On his part, Dhadrianwale, reaffirmed that he was looking for justice. “So far, I haven’t got it ). I told the SGPC president that I will do whatever the panel wants, but he (Makkar) must ensure that the guilty are booked,” said Dhadrianwale, adding that he will consult his followers regarding the SGPC offer .
