Major Damage at Sri Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara

Sri Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan received damage to several structures after severe wind damaged several domes on the minarets. The domes of the Gurdwara complex structures were thrown off the structures which show that they were made with cheap materials rather than traditional concrete.

The domes were hollow internally resulting in low weight which enabled the wind to easily knock them off the bases. It is unclear when the domes will be replaced but the cheap structural construction raised alarms. The domes could potentially fall on devotees and luckily no one was injured as the premises has been closed.

The Gurdwara Sahib in Pakistan has been closed for several weeks after the Covid-19 breakout.
