A crane which was removing a 25 year old water tank outside the Golden Temple Complex flipped causing excessive damage to nearby houses.

The incident occurred on the morning of March 18, 2015 primarily due to an excessive load being carried by the crane. The eyewitnesses reported the crane was trying to remove a very large concrete slab and those working on the water tank had tied 2 large slabs to it.

The weight of the slabs was too much which caused the large crane to flip over. Luckily, no one was hurt and no lives were lost in the dangerous accident.
