The CBI secretly submitted a closure report on December 24, 2014 giving a clean chit to Congress leader Jagdish Tytler for the 1984 Sikh Genocide.

HS Phoolka expressed disappointment on Wednesday and said he will be filing a petition of protest.

The filing was done quietly which is why the closure report has taken 4 months to surface.

While addressing reporters Phoolka Said, “There has been a hearing in the court after that but this matter has been kept top secret and confidential. Why a matter of such great importance is kept confidential? The people want to know.”

He went onto to accuse the Akali Dal saying “The Akali Dal and the Gurdwara Committee were aware of it and even they did not inform the people. When Jagadish Tytler was given a clean-chit in 2009 during the UPA Government, the Akali Dal and the BJP raised such a hue and cry in the Parliament that the house had to be adjourned.”

“Now when their government is in power, they quietly want to ensure that Tytler is given the clean-chit,” he added.

“Fortunately, till today, the court had not accepted this clean chit, we will definitely protest (against) this. We would have done this earlier if we were aware of it,” said Phoolka.

Tytler was one of 3 main accused in the 1984 Sikh Genocide.
