(DSU News Bureau) Surinder Singh Thikriwala of Gurmat Parchar Lehar has brought to attention an issue largely being ignored by the SGPC. The issue of inappropriate clothing and loitering around the complex as if it’s a hang out place. The guards on the Parikarma should take an active role in addressing the issue by educating.
The guards hired by the SGPC have become only for decoration or posing for photos.
The tradition of wearing appropriate clothes to religious places seems to be getting ignored by many who visit the holiest shrine of the Sikhs.
The Singh said he saw women with half clothes and others who walk around the Parikarma holding hands. He further emphasized the women and man are largely from Punjab. The Singh stated the issue requires attention as the holy place isn’t a spot to hang out or walk around but to pay obeisance to Guru Sahib.
