“How Can I Meet You?” A Sikh’s Question to Guru Gobind Singh Ji

Once a Sikh asked the Tenth Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji: How can I Meet You?

The question has to be one of the greatest questions ever asked because despite Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji leaving his physical form, he told the Khalsa that respects could still be given to him in another physical form.

Guru Sahib responded to the question in such a way: Sikh, you do not need to go far nor do you need to struggle to meet me. Wake up at Amritvele, do Panj Banian da Paath (prayer), recite Guru Mantar, recite mool mantar, wear Bana, and when you look into the mirror, you will see me. Guru Sahib further stated that you don’t need to find ways to meet me.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji further explained, “If you wan to do darshan (pay respects) to my soul than pay respects to Guru Granth Sahib Ji. If you want to see my in physical form to pay respects to me than look at your own appearance. I have given you my surat (my image), my face.”

Guru Sahibs bachan (words) “Khalsa mero roop hai khaas, Khalse meh hau karu niwaas.”
