Holla Mohalla was celebrated at Sri Harimandir Sahib Ji with a lot of joy as Sangat arrived in very large numbers. During time of Sukhasan, while Guru Ji’s saroop gets taken to Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

On the way, Sangat has started a tradition of throwing flowers on Guru Ji and spraying an excess of perfume. Now, the meaning behind the perfume throwing is not known but it creates immense pollution while creating a perfume cloud overhead.

Most perfumes contain alcohol but it’s not certain whether some people actually use nonalcoholic perfume. The tradition of flower throwing is recent but against the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Shabads of Guru Granth Sahib Ji enlighten a person and blossoms them like a flower and so throwing flowers is hypocritical.
