High Court Issues Directive After Jathedar Nandgarh Takes SGPC to Court

The Punjab and Haryana Court has issued a directive to the SGPC for giving the appointment letter issued in 2003 to Jathedar Nandgarh when he was appointed Jathedar in 2003.

Jathedar Nandgarh filed a petition against the SGPC for the illegal removal of him as Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib on January 17, 2015.

The primary reason for the Jathedar’s removal was that he was opposed to the Bikrami Calendar over the Nanakshahi calendar.

The demand of the Jathedar is the restoration of his position and stated that the SGPC didn’t seek any letter or information from his before sacking him. He said issuing a notice for his removal without notifying him was illegal.
