A groom in Madhya Pradesh traded his ornamental headgear for a sturdy helmet as he was attacked with stones by upper caste men in his village – all because he dared to ride a horse to his wedding.

The upper caste community protested the man after he chose to ride a horse. The man belongs to the dalit community who are considered to be ‘untouchables.’ The groom has defied the norms of the village and took a brave step to fight discrimination.
