First Video of Air India Plane Marking 550th Celebrations of Gurpurab

India’s National carrier Air India prepares for 550th Guru Nanak Gurpurab celebrations with historic livery “Ek Onkar” ੧ਓ on tail. ੴ ( there is One Universal Creator) is the very first word mentioned by Guru Nanak, founder of the Sikh faith. #550Years

These pictures went viral on social media. Many are guessing that this aircraft may be used on its first flight ✈️ from Amritsar to London Stanstead Airport on October 31.

The Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri confirmed the news reports with several tweets:

As part of 550th Parkash Utsav celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the fundamental teaching of Sikhism ੴ ‘Ek Onkar’ will be painted on aircraft that will operate on the thrice weekly

A picture went viral on social media which shows Air line Air India workers putting ‘Ek Onkar’ on the tail. The picture was very widely seen on social media.

This would be the first time an Indian Airline has put a Sikh Ek Onkar symbol on their tail. People on social media praised the airline for the gesture.

The ‘Ek Onkar’ was being installed to celebrate Sri Guru Nanak Dev JI’s 550th Gurpurab celebrations. Various Indian companies have attempted to appeal to Sikhs by joining in on the celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

According to reports, the ‘Ek Onkar’ symbol was recently installed to honor the first Sikh Guru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
