FIR Filed Against Deep Sidhu and Lakha Sidhana Over Red Fort Incident

Delhi Police announced that an FIR was filed against Deep Sidhu and Lakha Sidhana over the incident at the Red Fort in Delhi that occurred on January 26.

The Commissioner of Delhi Police DCP Chinmoy Biswal wrote a letter to the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha leaders on why action shouldn’t be taken against them for violating the agreed protest routes. The DCP sought a reply from the Kisan leaders in three days.

The police have registered cases on 25 people for the events that took place on the Red Fort.

Deep Sidhu made several Live videos on January 26 stating that hoisting a flag was an expression of protest and anger. However, the case was registered at the Kotwali police station of the North District under the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act of relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

The Kisan Morcha leaders distanced themselves from Deep Sidhu and accused him of being responsible for the events that took place at the Red Dort.

The farmers have suspended their march to Parliament on the Day of the Budget following the events which unfolded on the Red Fort.

The farmers on the Singhu Stage stated that the event at the Red Fort was a setback to their movement as they conducted a peaceful protest in Delhi for the last 2 months. They issued statements that they condemn what occurred.
