Sikh groups have started protests against the fim “Nanak Shah Fakir” after an actor revealed that his friend played Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s role in the film. The producer had maintained that an animation was used but this proved to be false.

The AISSF Mehta has asked the SGPC and Akal Takht to intervene and support the decision of a ban. Sikh groups around the world have launched protests as they say a panthic decision from the past was violated and that no one is allowed to play a role of the Sikh gurus.

A representative of the AISSF is approaching Home Minister Rajnath Singh to ask a for a ban as he says the film “hurts Sikh sentiments.”
