The reservation row has turned devastating as Jats have burnt/destroyed Rs. 700 Crore public property. The shocking news has come out that the oldest Dhaba on NH1 Sukhdev Dhaba was burnt by the protesters. The other popular eatery Haveli was also ransacked and severely damaged by the Jats. The Sukhdev Dhabha is famous place for NRIs and travellers on the NH1.

The situation on NH1 was worse. Thousands of people were stranded at Haryana’s border areas as protesters blocked highways at key entry points. Jat protesters blocked the busy national highway near Kondli village in Sonepat district as early as 8 am Saturday, affecting vehicular movement to Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and Jammu and Kashmir. The protesters then deflated tyres of trucks and passenger buses.

According to reports, the situation is critical on NH1 with protesters burning the Sukhdev Dhaba completely and partially damaging Murthal Haveli while huge trenches have been dug to stop vehicular traffic.

Reports said that the stranded passengers have decided against travelling by road keeping in view the violence on NH1. Via Kashmir Life
