A NRI from Canada crashed his speeding SUV into the Wagah-Attari border Monday morning. The identified as Surinder Singh Kang was arrested by the Border Security Force at around 3:30am after not only crashed at the first gate but rammed into the second gate into Pakistan.


The SUV ended up on the Pakistan side of the border mobilizing the Pakistan’s Punjab rangers. The rangers sought an inquiry into the incident from the Border Security Forces.

Reportedly, the gate at the Attari border was badly damaged and the Wagah border gate was partially damaged. The man was arrested by the BSF while the SUV was confiscated by the Pakistani officials.

The man was booked under 307 of the Indian Penal Code among other charges. The man belonged to the Nakodar area of Jalandhar and held Canadian citizenship.
